Molded zippers are also known as VISLON® plastic zippers. They are made of plastic elements, such as polyacetal resin, which are injected into the tape.
Being made of plastic elements, VISLON® zippers are lighter than our metal zippers of the same size.
In 1973, the name, ‘VISLON®’ was first registered as a trademark of YKK CORPORATION in Japan and subsequently registered in other countries/regions.
Molded Zippers manufacturing process
Similarly, to Metal and Coil zippers, the tape and teeth are created separately and come together after assembling.
Rich element color variations are created by formulating the color pigment during the injection process.
Like all zippers, the tape color can be chosen from fabrics/clothes/color swatch.
OEAN TRIMS also offers No Dyestuff Zipper as part of our eco-friendly product line.
No Dyestuff zipper features zipper tape and elements in their natural, raw colors, significantly reducing water usage that arises from the dyeing process. However, the process for making no dyestuff zippers is not completely waterless, as water is used when rinsing the zipper chains during postproduction.
